MCAS-Safe Hemp Seed Energy Balls for Nervous System Support

These no-bake energy balls combine tryptophan-rich hemp seeds with magnesium-dense sunflower seeds to support serotonin synthesis and GABA production for nervous system regulation. Hemp seeds provide complete amino acids including tryptophan, the precursor to serotonin, while fresh ginger adds gingerol compounds that modulate inflammatory cytokines and support neurotransmitter balance.

Ingredients
β—†1 cup shelled hemp seeds, raw
β—†1/2 cup sunflower seeds, raw and unsalted
β—†1/4 cup coconut flour
β—†2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
β—†2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
β—†1 teaspoon fresh ginger, finely grated
β—†1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
β—†1/8 teaspoon sea salt
Method
1Pulse sunflower seeds in a food processor for 10-15 seconds until roughly chopped but not powdered - over-processing releases oils that can become rancid
2Add hemp seeds, coconut flour, cinnamon, and sea salt to processor and pulse 3-4 times to combine without over-mixing
3In a small bowl, whisk together melted coconut oil (cooled to room temperature), maple syrup, and freshly grated ginger
4Pour wet ingredients over seed mixture and pulse briefly until mixture holds together when pressed - avoid over-processing to preserve omega-3 fatty acids
5Roll mixture into 16 small balls using clean hands, placing on a parchment-lined tray
6Refrigerate for 10 minutes to firm up before serving - consume immediately or store covered in refrigerator for maximum freshness
Clinical Note

Better Kitchen is a functional nutrition companion, not a replacement for medical care. MCAS and HAT are highly individual β€” always introduce new foods slowly and track reactions with your allergist or immunologist.
